People often ask us where we find the lush, beautiful flowers featured in My florist Living magazine, in our books,
and on our television show. Since so few people have access to cutting gardens like Martha’s or to the wholesale
markets where many of our flowers are found, we had an idea: Why not bring the same extraordinary fresh flowers
we use to customers all over the country? Flowers that are delivered directly to the consumer within days of being cut.
So, Martha and our editors journeyed to the Netherlands to the world-famous Aalsmeer flower auction—the largest
in the world—to seek out the best, most beautiful varieties available anywhere. We decided the flowers would be
most versatile if offered in “grower’s bunches”—the way you would buy them at a wholesale market, perfect for an
ample arrangement of a single variety or to mix with other flowers and colors. |
